Sir Robert McAlpine

Riverwalk is a collection of highly specified and prestigeous one, two, three and four bedroom apartments and penthouses set in the gateway to Westminster, London. Designed to impress at every level they focus on light, space and service, as well as presenting exceptional views across the River Thames.Spread across two organically shaped buildings, the 116 apartments at Riverwalk are positioned on a prominent central London site.

Due to their vast experience of working with glass and stone, Mega Glass was asked to join the development team and help fit out the bathroom areas for the complete project.

Throughout the development, both our project management and site installation teams were commended for their commitment to getting the job done within the tight turnaround schedule. The whole project has been a huge success with room sign-off rates been very high and all timelines met throughout the project.

Scope of Work:

The template, manufacture and install of back- painted glass to walls as well as bespoke glass shower enclosures for 88 luxury bathrooms across 15 floors of this high-end, iconic development on the South Bank.

Templating and manufacturing at our Luton factory and installation by our in-house fitting team of eight, committed to working full-time on site over a period of four months, ensured that the SRM team could meet the very tight deadlines without compromise on quality of product or aesthetic finish.

Various internal tests were carried out at the Mega Glass factory using fabricated mock-ups to provide confirmation that the Architect’s vision was fit for purpose and that the key details would not fail over time. The same tests were also used to confirm elements of design including size of shadow gaps. This ensured that details were confirmed to the satisfaction of all relevant parties before installation began.

The years of Mega Glass’ expertise in glass template, manufacture and install was a contributing factor to the SRM team in identifying how to avoid unwanted aesthetic outcomes caused by the complicated jigsaw puzzle style of the 19 or more glass panels per room. We were also able to offer an alternative option with a quick turnaround when a quantity of specialist glass designated for certain bathrooms became unavailable from the supplier during the project timeline.

88 premium bathrooms, delivered on time without compromise to quality and the development of a strong bond between Mega Glass and the client team.
